In order to determine the effects of static magnets on the pain and limitations associated with chronic knee pain due to degenerative joint disease, forty-three subjects with chronic pain in one or both knees were recruited to wear magnets or placebos for two weeks. Results suggest that the application of magnets over painful knee joints appear to reduce pain and enhance movement.
